Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a good finger’s worth of white foamy head. Some stringy lace.
The aroma had a good sweet malt up front with some roasty nutty tones coming out nicely. Some earthy/citrusy hops try to come out near the end.
The flavor copied the aroma pretty much spot on and bled into the aftertaste to follow in the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV felt appropriate. Pretty smooth along my tongue.
Overall, really nice brown ale and given the circumstances why it was brewed, makes me feel good they brewed something that they weren’t sure about but it turned out really good.

This is a pretty good Brown Ale, especially given the circumstances under which it was brewed. This is a good example of making lemonade when life hands you lemons, or in this case making beer when life floods your brewpub. Dark brown with a medium thin beige head. The aroma is mostly sweet malt with a roasted nutty character as well. Medium-bodied with a strong malt and caramel flavor. It retains the nutty flavor but the hops come through progressively. The finish is fairly hoppy. This is a solid session brew and goes well with food.
