Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a dark brownish amber color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Large spots of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt aroma with notes of fruit and caramel. Medium to full body with a roasty character and flavors of caramel malt and nuts. Some boozy qualities throughout. The finish is malty with a nutty aftertaste and lingering alcohol burn. Seemed a little hot overall, but a decent Doppelbock.
