Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very hazy gold with a creamy off-white head. Wow. The aroma is very, very smoked malt. Med body or better. Flavor is quite smoked malt. I think there’s some hop bitter in this. But it’s godawfully smoke. Like BrewDog went to NZ. Crazy stuff!

Bottle. Clear yellow color with a white head. Fruity smoky aroma. Fruity malty very smoky flavor. Fruity malty smoky tar finish.

Bottle 330ml.Clear medium yellow orange colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, moderate to heavy smoke, peat, wood smoke. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long long duration, initial just smoke smoke and smoke, wood and dry, later i did also get light yeast and fruit in the back ground. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Fun beer but to smokey to me ;O) [20120523]

clear yellow, small white head. Heavy smoked and peated burnt woody malts. Flavor is smoked malts, burnt wood, charchoal, aftertaste is loads of extreme charred woody charchoal. besides the smoked notes, flowery syruppy fruity notes. Most smoked flamethrower charred beer i ever had

massive amount of peat an smoke from beginning to end. Unfortunately, as is common peat and light color ales dont mix well and this beer is no exception. Hardly detect the hops.

From a 330ml bottle on 26/10/2011. Pours a slightly opaque light golden with a decent head. Has an extremely powerful peaty, Islay single malt aroma. The flavour is similar. This is the beer incarnation of a Laphroaig, Lagavulin or Ardbeg. Has a touch of citrus and long bitter finish. This shouldn’t work but it does. A crazy, interesting, impressive one of a kind beer.

Looks like this has been altered a fair bit since I first had it. Now its much more balanced, the peat is nowhere near as full on. Very enjoyable stuff....Pours amber with a small fading head.Nose shows bandaids, camp smoke, burnt hair, burnt plastic and faint caramel. Imagine a plastics factory caught on fire and someone put it out with beer. Pretty comparable to the aroma of this stuff. It’s amazingly potent too, strong enough to be detected from the other side of the room.Tastes like charcoal. Seriously. And more burnt plastic. With a little sweet malt underneath.This was difficult to rate - on the one hand, it was very interesting and unique. On the other hand, it was a serious hassle to drink and I never want to try it again.
