We make sure the gentle bitterness of this beer is rounded out with a classic malt flavour in true porter style. But to make things uniquely Feral (as we like to do), we add a subtle hickory flavor from German malts smoked over Beechwood, which gives this porter a truly special and unexpected character.
It's flamin' sensational.
Note: Formerly 4.7%. Previous description: Feral smoked porter has a very gentle bitterness and combines the classic coffee and chocolate character of the Porter style with a subtle smoked hickory flavour derived from the use of peated distiller’s malt.

Pours dark brown with a small head.Nose shows soft roasted malt with light nutty and toasty notes.Pretty gentle flavours. Light roast and very faint nutty malt provides the main show. Goes along the right lines but a bit plain really. Finishes weakly with very little bitterness.Body feels watery.

Tap. Dark brown with a small light beige head. Aroma of chocolate, mace, vanilla, modest but obvious smoke. Much smokier taste with light roast, chocolate. Didn’t get much coffee. A little overcarbonated Thought it was a little thin before I saw it was only 4.5%. Liked the refined aroma and the contrastingly more free-wheeling taste. [3.4] Bottle, 4.9%. OK, there’s the coffee. Remarks otherwise the same. Solid.
