Anchored Inn, Brooklyn bottle ($11): Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is light hops, a bit of honey, and some grass. Taste is slightly bitter, a tad bit sweet, but mostly just a crisp easy-drinking beer. Nothing is really too impressive, but certainly there is not a thing wrong with this either.

Hazy gold beer with a good white head. Palate is smooth and dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light smooth malt, touch of cream. Very light honey and a whisper of somewhat insipid citrus. Light dry finish. Okay.

Pours bright gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet honey aromas. Sweet caramel upfront to back lasting bitter finish.

Location: 22 oz bottle from The Hop - Beacon, 9/22/13

Aroma: The nose is mild and a little sweet, honey is there, but light, mild lemon and yeasty notes
Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with a quick dissipating, bubbly, white head and mild lace
Flavor: The taste is light up-front, some sweetness and maltiness comes through mid-end palate
Palate: The body is light, feels a bit thin and overly carbonated, but not a terrible feel, short duration
Overall Impression: I saw this big ole’ bright yellow bomber and figured I might as well try this one. Unfortunately, this beer is not all that exciting. It feels a little dull and forgettable. I was really pulling through my nose to get much of anything out of the aroma. There’s nothing offensive here, it’s just a dull one. Too bad, I was looking for a little more. Honestly, I wonder if this bottle is just past its prime or if this beer just lacks flavor.

22 oz. bottle. Clear pee yellow color with small head. Aroma is indeed honey and light pilsner/pale malts. Flavor is identical to the nose. Grainy texture. Light body with a sweet honey finish. Real simple and drinkable. Decent session type brew.

Capped 750 from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours translucent gold with a foamy white head. Aroma suggests some sort of dilute aftershave. Fruit? Med body or nearly. Flavor starts sort of sweet, but then a lot of grassy hop stops that. Followed by some breadiness. Seem to be getting honey on my lips. Quite surprisingly drinkable. Honey from hops. What fortunate bees.
