Complex sake like flavors with malt sweet notes. Hints of strawberries in the nose and palate. An intriguing mix of sake, malt , and bitter notes in the finish.

Tolles Flaschendesign - optisch kein Schaum, trüb, wie Eistee, kaum Perlen. In der Nase leicht malzig. Im Trunk Malz, dann leichte Frucht, Pflaume, bitterer Abgang. Sehr bekömmlich, wenn auch nicht außergewöhnlich.

330ml bottle. Murky pink-ish golden colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Strange, spicy grainy aroma, hints of fried rice. Taste is sweet-and-sour, floral, fruity and slightly spicy, hints of lychee and strawberry. What must be the red rice is interesting and quite complex in taste but doesn’t work in the aroma.

Ten czerwony kolor nie do konca jest taki jak powinien byc delikatnie czerwony refleks, ale glownie jasny bursztyn swieci w szklaneczce. Piwo ze srednia i malo trwala pianka. Smak ryzowy slodowy nieco karmelowy. Malinowe w smaku ale lekko wytrawne i chmielne na zakonczenie. Ciekawe ale nie powalajace.

Bottle from Ammersin. Aroma general fruitiness, some caramel, light wildish element, might just come from heavy rice usage. I honestly do not know. Really wonderful red colour, slightly hazy, a few floaties. Taste is mostly caramely and fruity, berries, red fruits. Lots of fruitiness going on. Some sakéish notes. Quite good one.

Bottle from Yamaya, Hitachinaka, Ibaraki, Japan. A hazy red/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Fruity, malty aroma. Tastes similar, fruity, malty, slightly sweet, sake. Quite Japanese in character.

330ml bottle from Liquors Hasegawa in Tokyo. Poured into a stemmed tulip. Beautiful golden amber with a light pink head that dissipates fairly quickly. Strong rice aroma with honey, strawberry and rose hip aromas present. Medium body with average carbonation. Sweet with a slight bit of saltiness. Long finish with a slight hint of bitterness and spice. Good beer with a unique profile. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hitachino Nest Red Rice Ale on 07 May 2015 at 19:40 - Score: 7

330ml bottle from Cornelius. Pours hazy red-amber, thin white head. Aromas of bubblegum, faux strawberry, like in those ice-cream-shaped gummy sweets. Taste is more creamy strawberry, like the syrup on an ice-cream bought from a van. Caramel there too. Medium body, too sweet a finish for me though. Interesting.

Bottles from Cornelius and Great Grog. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Tiny flecks floating around. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of yogurt, candle, orange and yeast. Aroma of custard, strawberry, copper, caramel biscuit and toffee. Medium body with a slick texture. Prickly fizz. It’s sweet and tinny. An unusual beer.
