Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a bottle. This beer pours a clear brown color with hints of red around the edges. Medium thin off-white head with decent retention, and stringy lacing. Mild raspberry and chocolate in the nose. Medium-bodied with sweet malt and raspberry flavors along with a touch of caramel in the background. The finish is short with tart raspberry flavor. Overall this beer is pretty one-dimensional and uninteresting.

On tap @ Cato’s in Oakland (late Dec. 2007). Pours clear brown with fairly weak head. The aroma was full of sweet raspberry fruitiness that seemed too sweet smelling to be actual fruit but likely syrup. The taste mildly supported the raspberry syrupiness noted in the nose but the flesh of the raspberry seems noticeable here too. There was also a mild malt roastiness hidden behind the fruit.

Bottle: Pours a deep mahoghany color with a small beige head. Light bits of lacing. Aroma is sweet and malty, hints of fresh raspberries. Flavor is relatively fruit-free, only slight hints of raspberry. More nutty and caramel malts. Very little bitters in the trailer. An underperformer.

Bomber. Aroma is almost flowery there is so much raspberry, but there is also some chocolate. Something of a deep maghogany color with a white head that flattened rapidly. Medium body with very mild carbonation. The flavor is raspberry, powdery chocolate and nutty. The malt is pretty well obscured by all the flavors. It finishes rather dry, the chocolate is there, and the raspberry is also there. Just the thing when you’ve a raspberry/chocolate craving.

Bottle Pours a meium bronw with a quick fizzy head and spotty lacing. Nose is big raspberries and a litle woody light roast malts. Flavor is mostly the brown ale, woody and a bit soapy like maky fruit flavorings are. Slightly bitter and sour and a moderate thin palate. Lively carbonation. Just OK

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Clear, dark, orangey brown with a creamy, off-white head. Fresh raspberry aroma. Medium body, very dry in spite of the heavy raspberry notes and a dry, slightly chemical finish. But fresh and very quaffable. 310507

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of fruit and almonds. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of raspberries and almonds, leading to a dry end with notes of berries.

On the pour...little foam-flat cola...very pungent raspberry ...dark brown pepsi-like...a fun bodied beer with mild carbonation..."Tina will have the shits later"...."do you have a fan in your bathroom?", she asks...toasted raspberries, shunted flavor...very abrupt finish...not a linger here or there...a little dryness and slightly bitter towards the end....2 thumbs up..where?, well thats entirely up to you..:)

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear deep ruby with average head. The fresh raspberries in the aroma are acompanied by lightly roasty malt. With it’s surprisingly restrained sweetness and clean rounded, perhaps somewhat soapy moutheel it is more well balanced than I thought this beer would be, and the fresh raspberry flavour goes well with the nutty malt. Low bitterness. A solid effort in a difficult style.
