Near clear light gold beer, decent bubbly white head. Palate is light, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, a light floral creamy sweetness. Peppery spice in the mid, white pepper. Esters, orchard fruit esters. A little citrus before a light peppery crisp finish. Entertaining and fairly drinkable, that said, a pint would be too much.

2/V/25 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ Fem’s mom’s place, BB: IX/2026, L11045 0116 (2025-429)

Pretty clear yellow gold blond beer, big fluffy creamy white head, a little stable, falls down quickly, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: spicy, coriander, ripe anana, sweet impression, dusty, a bit grassy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, gentle bitterness, sugary, a bit grassy, more sugary, very yeasty. Aftertaste: a bit malty, grains, hay, spicy, quite some coriander, a little bitter, very yeasty finish. Not a big fan.

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, white head. Aroma: Yeasty, fruity esters, malty. Taste: Malty with light to moderate bitter hoppy background. Yeast. Fruity ester notes of stonefruit. Over moderate bitterness. Just over medium body, average carbonation. Ok.

Bottle at Duvelorium Brugge. Clear gold beer and lasting white head. Some hop some esters on aroma some Duvel aroma. It's an odd one. Yes it's Duvel but it's also stronger. Hotter
And hopoier. Really quite hoppy on finish. Reminds me of the triple hop series. But less floral. It's big no doubt. Some drinkability. Not as good as the tipel citra or regular version decent though

Pours a clear blonde, Medium sized head (less foamy than regular Duvel) . Scent is recognizable duvel, but indeed more malty, more outspoken, less refined. Definately insists on closing the (small) gap between Belgian Golden Strong Ale and Tripel - this one delivers more esters than the regular duvel, so it's even crossing into tripel territory in terms of aroma. Taste is still quite damn sharp in terms of carbonation and bitterness. Very recognizable duvel, which is exactly what you hope for when they make a 'limited edition version' of an existing beer - and this one does the job well; the link between it and Duvel always remains very clear. More noticeable alcohol. A bit less hoppy, a bit more malty - yes. But to me the alcohol is the bigger difference, it's a bit to strong for what it delivers, making it less balanced than the regular duvel. Some very good people have rated this before me, calling it out for sweetness - personally I have no problem with this, don't even think its that sweet (especially if we're gonna compare this with some tripels), but of course the sweetness is also tempered by the sharpness created by the high carbonation. Overall, I truly think they did a good job in the marketing departement, I agree with this being a 'duvel variant' rather than a new basebeer, but when making a variant of something, one always hopes for improvement over the original. In this case, they might have taken too big of a chalange, or the ideas and direction they went simply didn't went the same way as mine would, but I prefer regular duvel. Curious to see though, if the project will be continued with other special versions - who know, one might even be surprisingly good !

0.33 l bottle from 'Drankgigant.nl', best before September 2026. Hazy, golden with a large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, gently grassy, slightly yeasty-spicy aroma of banana, clove and grains. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, quite yeasty-spicy and slightly grassy taste of banana, clove, grains, some lemon peel and hints of honey, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, slightly dry and a little boozy finish. Medium body, fairly effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very tasty Blond, has quite some bite, nicely hoppy and bitter. Quite good.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Basically a sweet/boozed up Duvel on steroids. Not bad, but lacks the drinkability of the regular (superior) mainstream version.
