Tap at the Birmingham Hotel, Melbourne. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light citrus, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a crisp woody resin hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Served cold in a cold bar. Standard stuff.

(Bottle from BWS Broadbeach) A bright clear copper pour with an average white head and some lace. Aroma is lightly sweet honeyed malt, floral, pine, pale stone fruits, grapefruit peels, a bit musty and skunky. Flavour has lightly to moderately sweet malts, dark honey or light caramel character, biscuit, pine, grapefruit pith, floral, wet grass and green onion, skunky. Slightly toasted, herbal spicy oniony finish is dry and lightly bitter. Light to medium bodied, active carbonation. A decent enough pale ale, a touch malty and not that bright a hop profile but it’s rather dry and thus drinkable.

On tap at 4 Pines, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt and light floral notes. Flavour brings out biscuity malt and floral hops. Dry and well-balanced but forgettable. Decent.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Floral hop/pine nose. Looks the goods, golden/bronze beer with solid white two finger head. A few lazy bubbles. Medium body, spritzy with a faint malt taste. Finish is bittersweet lemon. Delicious, well balanced.
