Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2017. Deep gold in colour, with a small, off-white, head. Yeasty fruits, ripe cereal malts and a touch of leafy hop, before a dryish finish. Fine.

Cask at the Regent (JDW), Kirkby-In-Ashfield. Murky yellow-amber with a thin white head. Fairly weak and watery. Honey and spice come through by the end. Inoffensive and drinkable if I’m feeling kind; bland if I’m not. Unfortunately for Caley, after a 3 hour traffic-jam plagued drive, I’m not feeling kind and I’m not in the mood to put up with a half-arsed beer like this.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A bright pale amber colour with a loose cream head; aromatic aroma; acidic taste with a trace of pear drops; then a herbal bitterness to finish.

Cask at the Bridge House, Belfast. Poured a slightly hazy straw colour with a long-lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, yeast, some hops. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light smooth, yeasty, floral grainy earthy cardboard light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I don’t think this beer was at its best.
