This year we updated the grain bill to make it somewhat drier, enhancing the crisp bitterness. We changed some levels between the different hops but kept the rest.
We wanted to brew an American Double IPA that would bring us back to the old days. When IPAs were clear, copper colored and had a lasting, lingering bitterness.
Despite contemporary rating trends we hope to bring back a variation of styles and hopefully show how pleasant bitterness can be.
This beer is an homage to one of the beers that once sparked my own love for hoppy beers. A legendary beer that in many ways paved the way for modern IPAs.
More than generously hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial, Columbus and Cascade hops. 100+ IBU.
