Old rating - Pint from the cask at Craft Beer Co, Pentonville, London. Pours black with a off white head. Aromas & tastes of orange, chocolate, pine, toffee & malt. Medium body. Light bitter finish

Appearance is black, with a fluffy beige head of two fingers. Aroma is hops, orange hints, pine, grapefruit, coffee malty hints, toffee. Taste- coffee, latte, dark malt, milk chocolate, orange peel, piney hop hints, roasty chocolatey finish. Nice.

Creamy rocky tan head stayed on a dark oak coloured still body. Bitter hops, pine & liquorice aroma. Medium bodied, smooth over the tongue with a sharp clean back. Roasted, tobacco, pithy, bitter berry, coal & hoppy tastes.

Tap at Luppolo Station in Rome. Coffee bean pour with a medium tan foam. Nose: coffee-roast, tropical and minerals. Mouth: bitter tart, fruitiness, mild roast.

Keg at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, chocolate, pine aroma. Tastes roasty, hoppy, chocolate, pine, grapefruit. Quite bitter but a nice complex black IPA.

(Keg at Gallows Bird Real Ale Tribute to Shakespeare, 20160903) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, chocolate and burnt malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt, dark chocolate, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was ashy, hoppy and bitter. A nice hoppy stout.

Tap at Gallow’s Bird, Espoo. Colour is black with small brownish white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, citrus, some coffee, hops and roasted malts. Decent Black IPA.

Tap at the Birmingham Beer Bash 2016. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is grassy hop, yeast, light roast. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a hoppy grapefruit citrus palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Black body with a medium beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of ashy coffee, burnt toast, dark chocolate and dark fruits. Flavour of blueberries, plain chocolate and toffee. Medium body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. Very enjoyable.
