Cask @ Crown & Kettle, Manchester. Black with a thin off-white head. It has a mild liquorice sweetness to it, and a fairly easy-drinking texture.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a murky dark brown with a frothy tan head. The aroma is big rich red berry fruit, creamy malt, alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, light alcohol liquorice bitter with a smooth malt, molasses, spicy, fruit, Christmas pudding palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. A superb ale and perfect for Christmas!
