Barrel aged saison with boysenberries.
Appreciation is a barrel-aged farmhouse ale fermented with boysenberries and our resident funk. After several months in red wine barrels it has taken on a mouth-watering acidity a whiff of the barnyard, and stronger aromas and flavors attributed to the fruit. Appreciation's ruby red color entices welcoming another sip, another clink of glasses with friends, another moment of contentment and contemplation! With gratitude, we humbly offer our appreciation.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016. This one has a raspberry red cloudy, kinda dark colored body with a small pinkish red hued head leaving lots of small dots. Smells really nice. Quite woody, sour rhubarb, mild acidic apple vinegar. Not extreme in any direction but still quite nice and red fruity. Tastes quite good also. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and it's just below average on the carbonation. Sweet berries, some white currants - lingering all the way. Quite a sharp and precise one this. Not bad at all. 14.05.2016

(Sample @ CBC 2016 Green Session, Copenhagen) Pours murky medium red with a pale pink head. Aroma is reddish berries, somewhat tart and raspberry-like, ample barnyard funk, a bit oaky and vinous, lactic acidity, jam. Flavour is quite tart, red berries/raspberry with something a little deeper like red grape, zippy lemon lacto, dusty funk, wood, a bit tannic, a little sweet hint of malt. Dry cleansing tart berry finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Quite nice, not my absolute favourite SARA, which is a high bar, but very drinkable.

Bottle at RBBest. Pours reddish cloudy amber. Aroma is funky berries and barrel. Body is super sour, tart and still funky. Continues the berries and adds more red fruit. Light. Palate is short and sour. Good balance.

750ml bottle thanks to Steve. Following the Paxton with another stellar beer. Violet hued body and a soft pink head. Big berry aroma, some dry wooden notes and just enough sour elements. Taste follows the same pattern, sour and dry, some earthy barrel tones, all wrapped up in the berries. Nice.
