Docta-Ron: First brewed in May 2023 when renowned New Zealand hop breeder Dr. Ron Beatson visited Russian River Brewing to collaborate with Vinnie in the pilot brewery. Inspired by Vinnie’s passion for Nectaron, the unique hop developed by Dr. Ron, they created a Nectaron-focused beer, complemented by other New Zealand hops from Dr. Ron’s previous breeding work.

500mL bottle, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Nose is full of bright NZ hop tang—gooseberry, white wine tang, some citrus peel—along with plenty of pine and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is super bright, with lots of white wine and gooseberry expression, bitter piney hops, citrus peel, and crisp biscuity malt. Wonderfully bright hop tang and assertive lingering bitterness. Excellent.

500mL bottle. Pours clear golden blonde with a white head. Loads of bright, juicy stonefruit, ripe melon, dank oils, and sweet biscuit malts on the nose. Flavour has loads of ripe, juicy melon, gooseberries, loads of pine, and a nice grassy, bitter punch on the finish. This is excellent, hop expression is clean and punchy.

Looks just like an IPA should, gold body with lasting white head. Light hoppy aroma, tending citrus. Hoppy fruit and spice taste with lasting end of tongue finish.

Bright. Pale gold. The nz hop aroma is expressive, nice pear, lychee, floral sort of notes. Medium bitterness, and quite clean. The malts are great here, and the hops have held up pretty well for being 2 months old at this point.

500ml bottle. Nectarine aroma with notes of peach, grapefruit, tangerine, floral and grassy hops. Pours brilliantly clear golden colored with a large off white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with juicy nectarine, tangerine and grassy hop flavors. Finishes dry but still quite smooth with peach, grapefruit and floral hop flavors. Excellent ipa.
