Papaya Peach, Coconut & Chilli IPA. Brewed with Rob from Blackjack because he fancied a night out in Liverpool. This is an IPA for sunny days, tropical fruit aromas from simcoe, mosaic and nelson sauvin meld with... tropical fruit and a touch of chilli.

Bottle from Homebrew Bottle Shop, Oxton in Birkenhead. Appearance - cloudy orange. Thin attractive lacing. Nose - light tropical but smoke and lime predominant. Taste - papaya, smoke and light chilli heat. The chilli spice grows through the glass. Palate - medium bodied and smoky/spicy. Dry smoky finish. Overall - interesting beer and tasty. Grows on me.

330ml bottle from Le Beer de Gonzo. Pours hazy amber, fluffy white head. Aroma is light coconut, exotic fruit. Taste is light tropical elements totally over-ridden by the chilli heat on the back of the palate. Not massively into chilli beers, and this perhaps takes things too far. Faint glimpses of coconut valiantly attempt to take the edge off but this heat is here to stay.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is big fresh grassy hop, zesty citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a strong chilli spice, pepper hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thick white head. Low carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of orange, mango and passionfruit. Flavour of orange, caramel and peach - a good start. The enjoyment is brief, as once the chilli burn kicks in it completely dominates. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture. Soft fizz. There’s far too much chilli in this - it spoils what would have otherwise been a cracking beer.

Bottle @ Benzai’s 10K afterparty. Clear golden color, medium to full sized white head. Aroma is totally fruity, hoppy and nice. Makes me want to try it, but I’ve read about the chili which makes me hesitant... Taste initially is as fruity as the aroma, but then the chili kicks in. The fruityness fortunately takes away a lot of the chili burn, but it’s still quite firm especially for someone like me who can’t stand peppers and hot food. Still, quite a nice brew and I’m sure most people will love it. But if you can’t stand spicy hot food and peppers, this is not your thing.

Hazy gold beer, good off white head. Palate is a little soft but there is decent fine carbonation. Light creamy malts. Nice generic tropical fruits start leading to mild and well integrated coconut. A papaya, mango and nectarine things comes in just before the chilli takes over and starts to burn. Smooth finish. Long chilli hot linger. Shame they could not have left the chilli out or turned it down a lot, but it does what it says on the tin and I liked it, despite the chilli.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop. Consumed at home Friday 3rd July 2015 Light to mid gold with a slim white head, very tropical nose the peach bossing the others. The chilli wins out in the mouth, goes well with our curry, however there is a jolly good fruity juiciness, the coconut up until now a tad shy comes through here. Warming throughout, it’s a decent beer, perhaps a little heavy handed with the chilli but otherwise very good. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
