Bottle. It pours a lightly hazy dark brown body under a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is lightly roasted, with dark dried fruits, chocolate notes, some caramel sauce and dark sugar, and a touch of pine cones and grass. Rather malty flavor too, with a pleasant bitterness to bring some sort of balance. Roasted malts, licorice hints, dark sugar or barrel aged rum notes, dried figs and a little pine cone hint. Some alcohol too, but in a very pleasant and subtle way. Perhaps a bit roasted in the finish, but sure nice. Overall, a very pleasant one, well suited for the cold days of late fall and winter. A beer I think it would be interesting to ferment with a Belgian yeast strain. 141206

29.11.2014, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Big foamy shortlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, old leafs, wet grass, harsh hops, burnt caramel, alcohol, soap, bark, soil, wet grain, dried dark fruit. Tatse is harsh boozy, bark, alcohol, harsh hops, old leafs, soil, burnt caramel, soap, grass, fresh wood, plastics. Medium bitterness, harsh soapy mouthfeel. Crap!

330ml bottle, batch 17, vintage 2014, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Finger-thick, fawn-coloured head slowly fading over an opaque, dark-brown coloured body. Lacing rings down the glass. Pleasant aroma of liquorice, dark malts and leather. Taste of grainy chocolate, ash, prunes, and liquorice. Prolonged ending of malty bitterness. Fine bodied. A nice one, perhaps a bit restrained on the flavour profile (at home in Tromsø 08.11.2014).

0.33l bottle from #17. Looks really nice and inviting this with a deep dark brown colored cloudy body and a hefty lacing big dense creamy mocha head on the top. Lots of sweet raisins and nice rich chocolate in the aroma. Slightly burnt dates, hints of toasted almonds, mild cardboard and some nice rich caramel. Quite a nice, sweeter old nose this. Lots of flavor also. Really nutty and earthy. Slightly sweet and a little burnt in the edges, but still surprisingly round and harmonized. It has a really nice oily almost gliding mouthfeel and it's below average on the bubbles. There's also a mild alco warming hint here. Sweetish dried fruits, hints of wood and some brown sugar. Not something you need or want to drink loads and loads of in one setting, but a bottle or two of this on a cold rainy autumn Saturday evening works absolutely perfectly. Good stuff. 08.11.2014
