A dark and rich porter which bursts with roasted malt flavours; handsomely black, with a creamy white head and smoky aromas with an intense blend of bitter roasted malts. It has a creamy texture throughout which the sweet plum taste penetrates and is also on the nose from the natural plum flavouring.

Cask at Raven, Wigan (as Wigan Brewhouse Old Boston). Purs a very dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head. Aroma is basically plums with a hint of dried fruit. Plums again in the mouth with a sweet texture and traces of ash and dried fruits. Ginish is just generally fruity. This isnโt a bad beer, but very much a one trick pony โ plums completely dominate and you canโt tell what sort of beer it is meant to be.

Cask at the Walsall Camra, beer festival 2015. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken light tan head. The aroma is big plum, sweet creamy caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet with a dry earthy mineral, light spice, light floral bitter palate and a short dry bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask @ Soup Kitchen, Manchester. Cloudy and very dark, unclear but not black. Has an off-white creamy head. The plum is very prominent in its nose and taste, no other characteristic is dominant. Fairly light texture and feels good in the palate.
