A classic Oatmeal Stout developed on the bank of the Singapore River in 1997 by a master brewer friend, and personalised by us in Erdington: ‘micronized’ oats and a hint of Weyermann’s smoked malt give it its perfect finish.

Cask pint on 12th April 2019, hand-pulled at The Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire. Beige head on a dark brown body with a ruby hue. Aroma had roasted malts with a chocolate ester or two, taste also roasted malts with a singed feel to them, light coffee and chocolate notes. Nice.

Gravity cask at the Gas Tap, Melton Mowbray. Dark brown and flat with no head. Roast malt, espresso and charcoal aroma. There's a gentle sweetness to the taste that I wouldn't have predicted by smelling it. The roast malt and bittering hop provide a more balanced finish. Some plum notes alongside the malt and coffee in the aftertaste. Body is too thin, and it could do with some carbonation, but it's a good beer.

Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a bubbly light tan head. The aroma is light malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a rich creamy caramel malt, dry earthy mineral bitter palate. Medium bodied witn soft carbonation.
