SOUP RAKAU..... New enough to our roster, it's like Jay-z (mosaic) and Beyonce (citra) adopted an antipodean child and called it Stone Fruit. New Zealand hops such as Rakau really are leading the way with the perfect balance of Fruit, resinous and dank charateristics. Here we are dealt heaps of Apricots & Peaches, which just always pair well with the ever present mango and passion fruit from Citra and Mosaic and a hint of dankness coming through, just humming in the background.

Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Sweetish dank pineapple aroma. Medium-bodied. Citrus, pineapple, some dankyness, sweetish. A bit simple. Canned 04/2025 so 4 months old. PBF XV.

Canned at PBF. Hazy straw colour, small head. Aroma of grapes, gooseberries and passionfruit. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Fruity, rather neutral malt. Citrus, grass and grapes. Mid bitter finish.

PBF XV. Hazy yellowish golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is herbal, some floral, some nectar and mild citrusy tones to it. Flavour is citrus, floral tones, mild herbs and a bit nectary tones.

Draught from BrewDog Glasgow. Dark and murky gold, hazy with a small uneven white head. Dank aoma dominated by pineapple, with some tangerine and vanilla malt. Sweet with vo siderable malt character before a serious bitterness ensues. Notes of canned pineapple and weed in rhe finish. Medium body, low carbonation. Very good.

Keg at Garage taproom, Barcelona, Spain. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a huge off white head on top. Sweet, hoppy, citrus, orange, mango, tropical fruit taste and aroma. A fruit bomb, so good I had 3 glasses of it.

Tap at Brewdog Tower Hill. A hazed mid golden coloured pour with a a sticky fine white head. Aroma is big tropical fruit, Lychee, peach melba, apricot, somewhat artificial vanilla. Flavour is composed of wheat, rounded, Lychee, peach melba, apricot jam, loose wheat. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, light tang, moderate carbonation. Not bad. Tastes a little fake.
