This double IPA is deceptively strong. The latest April/May 2014 version is hopped with 7 different hops: Cascade, centennial, chinook, columbus, citra, simcoe and mosaic.

Bottle picked up at Cotteridge, Birmingham, consumed at home, Friday 30th January 2015 in company of Mum, Keith and of course Loz Almost amber in colour with some haze and a sticky white head. A little pine detected on nose. In mouth citrus and pine combine, it is bitter but a hefty malt backbone adds enough sweetness to ensure this isn’t a bitter bomb. Its strong but doesn’t taste like rocket fuel, really liking this. A8 A3 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Keg at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 18/09/14. Clear golden amber with a well appointed off white covering. Nose is tarte fruit, bitter orange, tangy citric rinds, red berry fruits, spice. Taste comprises orange pith, floral hop notes, light pine, mandarin, a little harsh and raw. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with boozey tunes. So so for style, a little unrefined, hides the 11% fairly well though.

Craft 100 at Craft Clapham. Keg. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is pretty light and a little crispy. A medley of pleasing hop flavours ensues - light sweet floralness, sweetish tinned tropical fruits, touch of spice, mild marmalade and a whisper of lemon. Light finish. Very drinkable.

Keg at Craft 100. It pours deep golden-amber with a small beige head. The nose is soft, sweet-sour, earthy, hay, straw, booze and tinned fruit. The taste is bitter, boozy, lemon peel, sherbet, earth, wood, chewy malt and tinned fruits. Medium body and moderate+ carbonation. Punchy, sweet and boozy. Pretty heavy duty stuff for me.

330ml bottle from Beermoth. Bottle says 10%. Pours murky amber with big white head. Dirty pine aroma. Taste is an initial big hit of bitter tangerine, resinous pine & pith and a lingering bitter malt finish. A lovely DIPA from a lovely brewer.

Bottle, Baltic Social, Liverpool. Hazy dark amber pour with a reserved off-white head. Decent fragrant hop and fruit notes in the nose. Flavour followed suit with some well balanced sweet malts and fairly robust hop bitterness which lingered on into the finish. ABV very well smothered. At long last a quality DIPA from Liverpool woo hoo !

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Lightly hazy, copper colour. Off white, creamy coloured, bubbly head. Heavy, tinned fruit salad, syrup aroma (not sure where the commercial description stating a light citrus, floral aroma comes from?). Taste has a rich, caramel sweetness, to start. The sweetness doesn’t go away, but a pithy, piney, mucky bitterness kicks in, then builds. No element of which overwhelms. Thick, oily, palate. Still doesn’t feel 11% though. Lovely. Bonkers, mind you. 11.01.15. Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. 11.7%. Label states Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe, and Amarillo. Holy Moly, this smells awesome! Super syrupy, tinned tropical fruit. Big, thick, sweet malty backbone. Taste is full on sweet. Big, piny, resinous bitter. I’m going to stop now. This is fantastic.
