Cask at CBC, London on 27th July 2013. Deep brown with thin tan film and spot lace. Spicy aroma with bitter chocolate notes. Lemon and grapefruit citrus in-mouth, with roasty malts and spiciness. Finish is quite roasty, yet with citric hoppiness and grassy touches. Light mouthfeel and medium body. An entertaining beer!

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Bash 2013. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a huge frothy off-white head. The aroma is grassy hop nettle leading to a medium to weak bitter flavour with an awesome zesty, bitter initial taste on the palate and some dry spice and pepper in the finish. It took a while to grow on me but the wait was worth it!

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours brown with a foamy off-white head. A bit of toasty bread in the nose, pine and grapefruit. Light sweet flavor, nice toasty malts, light dirt, pine, dry citrus. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Faint dry pine and citrus to finish, toasty brown bread. Very nice.

Caramel brown, clear, thin white head
Aroma of soft grapefruit, soft dark caramel malts, touch of dark roasted malt, slight chocolate
Taste - Thinnish caramel malts, some bitter citrus zest, slight touch of roast, dull middle, bit watery
Palate - Thinnish body, light bitter zest. Finish is rapid and dull
Overall - ok, that’s all

Cask at the Black Heart. Clear deep red - brown beer with a small off white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with low carbonation. Super mild dark malts, trace of coffee. Mild coca cola and red berry fruits. Finishes semi dry with mild grapefruit bitterness. An odd beer and I suspect not in the best condition but it’s tasty and drinkable. 3.2

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Clear dark amber beer, little pale tan head. Light palate with very mild carbonation. Lightly tangy malt - pretty mellow smoke. Nice tangy generic fruits. Finishes dry with more of that mellow smoke in the aftertaste.

Cask at Westow House. It pours deep ruby with small beige head. The nose is fresh grapefruit, blood orange, light sweetness, juicy, light roast, toast, treacle and dark fruit. The taste is roasted malt, earth, toast, spice, cocoa, rindy grapefruit, lemon and decent bitterness with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well-rounded, tasty and readily consumable...
