This unique surprise cross-pollinates the classic American wheat beer with an American Pale Ale. What grows next is a fruitfully unfiltered union with a delightful hop aroma, a pleasant citrus hop flavor, and a beautifully balanced finish that leaves other ales hoppy green with springtime envy.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent looking burnt orange to yellow color with a slim finger’s worth of sharply dissipating white bubbly head. Barely any foam and barely any lacing.
The smell started off with a spritzy sharp sweet wheat, delicate floral tones (but super dry). And then some burnt malts.
The taste was mainly the same bringing the wheat right on into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation runs at a decent pace along my tongue, some sharpness.
Overall, acceptable, but nothing over the top.

Bottle from Foods Plus, Plaistow NH. Aroma is resin hops. Appearance is hazy golden orange with minimal head with minimal retention and insignificant lacing. First blast of taste was of cat-box but then never got that again. Was lightly bitter. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation and mild bitter finish. Overall, a slightly above middle of the road IPA.

Pours a hazy amber from a bottle. Kind of a weak IpA with a wheat afterthought.

Enjoyed at home after a week of being sick over the holidays. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a rich white head. Aroma is a nice mixture of wheat, clove, yeast. Taste is pretty good, nice notes of orange peel, wheat, citrusy hops, moderate carbonation. I'm a fan, good start to 2015 beers!

Bottle at home in Salisbury, CT. Pours clear, light gold with a foamy, white head. Sugary malts in the nose, bread, ripe orange. Medium sweet flavor with lots more bready malts, light pine and hints of tangy citrus. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet on the finish with further bread, light leaves, more zippy citrus. Simple and a little odd.

355 ml bottle as Magic Hat Encore. Rather clear deep orange body with a medium sized off-white head. Mild aroma of citric fruit and malt. Flavor is sweet malt, some caramel, citric fruit, a hint of pine and moderate bitterness. Does neither feel like a wheat or IPA, even not anything in-between. More like an APA, and actually a nice one. Smooth and easy drinkable.

12oz bottle that states “Encore IPA” pours with a clear copper body that has thick gold edges and supports a light tan head. The aroma offers up malt sweetened grapefruit and clementine citrus hops as well as some mango mixing with a wheat note or two. The taste is similar with tangy citrus hops that deliver both flavor and hop bitterness. To midway a tropical fruity mango note joins the fun. Behind the hops is a light citrus and sweet malt nuanced wheated malt sensation. Nice label stated IPA isn’t, what!?

Bottle: (in winter pack, as "Encore") Pours cloudy orange-brown with a puffy, off-white head. Strong, grapefruit and orange aroma. Taste is hoppy, citric, orange-peel....zesty, strong carbonation, a little spice. Really enjoyed this one.
