Hazy dark amber beer, good off white head. Sweet caramel nose! Softish palate, light. Creamy malt with a little caramel but nowhere as much as the snout would infer! Light pine with an unusual undertone of red berry fruits. Finishes semi dry with more light pine and lightly sour caramel. Nice pine!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks tomer. Hazy orange. Aroma of fruity hops, a bit stale, with citrus and peaches and a bit of tropical fruits. Dry-ish flavor with light sweetness and pleasant bitter fruity hops. Medium-bodied. Seems past its prime but still pleasant. Probably great when fresh.

Bottle from ’Jacks’ Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon Tuesday 19th February 2013 consumed Thursday 20th Feb 2013 Pours warm gold with white head, little bit hazy maybe. The nose is a little maltier than I expected but backed up with a good citrussy hit. Taste is fruity loads of citrus but with a good solid maltiness, really good backbone to this beer, good balance. Hoppy and bitter but not too much and leading all the way to a nice steady dry finish. Good beer! A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle at home in London. Pours mostly clear, dark gold with a moderate, frothy white head. Ripe citrus on the nose, some wood, drying pine, lightly toasted bread. Light to medium sweet flavor, somewhat dry, with semi-sticky pine, some dry orange and grapefruit, sun-kissed grass, background bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous finish with dry pine, faint earth, a bit of gritty yeast, toasted grass and light bread, some rindy citrus. A very pleasant APA, but it needs a bit more cohesiveness to take it to another level.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy amber with a thick white head. The aroma is strong hops with citrus notes. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, with some slightly sour grapefruit notes and a hint of pepper and dry hops on the palate. The bitterness lingers for quite a while in the aftertaste. A superb pale ale and extremely refreshing.

Bottle at home (thanks to Jim Essex for the IPT) 31/12/12. Hazed mid amber with a thin white head that soon clears to the edge. Nose is pale malts, touch of caramel, pine, hops, bitter orange, a little subdued compared to other beers from TR. Taste comprises bitter orange, touch of grapefruit, caramel malt, pine, grass, hops, mineral tones. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, bitterness in the finish. Decent enough APA but not their best work to date!

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Clearish amber pour with a small bubbly white head. Gently fragrant nose with notes of citrus and honey. Similarly sweetish flavour with more fruit and some tidy hoppage present. Decent balance. and a nicely dry, lingering bitter finish. Surely the best thing to come out of Newport since Goldie Lookin Chain!
