Deze stout heeft gelegen op drie Amerikaanse whiskeyvaten: Weller Wheated (zoet en zacht), Sazerac Rye (kruidig, licht rokerig) en Heaven Hill (betrouwbaar en gebalanceerd). Om de verleiding compleet te maken kwam daar bovenop vanille uit Madagaskar, Papoea-Nieuw-Guinea én zeldzame bonen van de Comoren eilanden – die een rijke, gebakachtige diepte en subtiele tabakstonen geven.
Lagen van romige vanille, warme whiskytonen, hout en specerijen maken dit bier complex en verleidelijk. Deze stout is als Calypso zelf: luxueus, meeslepend, en bijna onmogelijk te weerstaan.

Draft at If It Ain't Dutch. Aroma is sweet amd boozy with underlying cocoa. Oily. Thin tan head. Flavour has booze and mocha. Berry edge. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Yum

Pitch black topped with a khaki head that thins to the edge.
Nose is molasses, barrel strokes, decadent chocolate, liquorice.
Taste comprises dark malts, chocolate melt, vanilla, bourbon, spice, toffee fudge, mellow roast.
Full bodied, oily feel, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost and good barrel tones.
Solid stuff.

A black beer with a beige lacing. Aroma of vanilla, strong dark malt, wood, whisky. Taste of mid sweet strong dark malt, chocolate, vanilla, some bourbon berries, thick mouthfeel.

Cremiger, süß malziger Beginn. Hohe Viskosität, Vanille- und Tonkabohne, Schokolade, Karamell. Vollmundig, viel Alkohol, intensiv. Brennend alkoholisch im Abgang, cremig, langer Nachgeschmack. Gut. 12/13/11/12/11/13

Can at home shared by Joen. Opaque black color, no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, sweet, distant roast, but too sweet for me to like tbh. Not my thing.

Poured black in color, off white head.
Thick, oily, wood, bourbony notes, some rye notes. Chocolate mousse, sweet but managable though. Massive brew.
