Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting in Chez Sophie on 20th Feb 2018; 33cl bottle from Mat, cheers mate. Boozy little bugger, poured a misty amber colour, weak off-white topping. Sweet and malty from start to finish, by sweet tooth taking to it straight away. Liked it.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 18, courtesy of me. Pours deep amber, small off-white bubbles. Aroma is fairly sweet malt. Taste is sweet, yet balanced, not too harsh, some smooth marmalade, caramel, bit oily. Alright.

33 cl. bottle as CREW Republic Rest in Peace @ home, bought @ Trinkgut Kleve. Hazy orange to light brown with a small off-white head. Caramel aroma with some hops and an almost vinous touch to it. Sweet taste with a sticky finish. Nice subdued carbonation. Just a solid barley wine.

Fles gedeeld door Roelzie1986. Het is een oranje bruin bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een kruidige geur. De smaak is vol, kruidig en wat pittig.

Aus der Flasche im 2018-01 getrunken. Das ist bisher mein bestes Barley Wine aus dem Hause Crew. Der Hopfeneinfluß erinnert mit eher an ein English Strong Ale was hier sehr passend wirkt. Lecker.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark amber. Aroma is fruit, syrup, berries, obscene. Body is heavy and sweet, boozy, pines, sweet even for a barley wine. Sugar. Very sweet palate without offering too many flavours or complexity.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread - sweet bread, cookie, caramel, sweet malt, dried fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, bread, sweet bread, caramel, rich malt, light dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
