Bottle picked up from the REWE on the trading estate en route to München and the airport. Consumed at home Thursday 11th April having just had a Cannelloni and listening to the new Snapped Ankles album. Pours a murky mid brown with an off white head. Hops and toffee on the nose and in the mouth more of the same, though with a distinct underlying bitterness (it's hoppy), it's a beast of a beer but very drinkable. Thick in the mouth, soft creamy carbonation, more toffee a little herbal cough sweet. It's very nice, bit boozy but nice.

0,33 l bottle from a local Hol' Ab! market as Rest In Peace. Dark amber in the glass, little bit unclear with an huge pale beige head. Alcoholic fruity hoppy smell. Taste starts malty, some nuts. Followed by increasing alcoholic bitterness. Hop in the background. Also some sticky sweetness. Okay imho.

Bottle bought at the Getränke Fleischmann in Oberammergau, labeled as Rest In Peace. Pours a dark, ruby color, with a medium, creamy, khaki head. The nose is caramel, brandy, pine, vanilla, and some smoke. Sweet and malty, with a smooth bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a syrupy, lightly acidic, and slick mouthfeel. This is a nicely hopped, simple, and quality beer.

Almost clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Soft fruity caramel malts, trace of cream. Mild spice. Trace of oxidised tasting caramel and a whisper of dried fruits. Light spicy finish. It's a pretty simple barleywine, no real depth or maturity. Okay.

330ml bottle [as 'Rest in Peace']. Hazy, copper-ish brown colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Slightly sugary, caramel malty and citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, orange, mandarine, candied orange peel, a touch of lime, additional hoppy overtones with an mustard inspired touch of peppermint. Taste is citrusy hoppy and mellow, caramel malty, notes of lemon, mandarine, orange, orange zest, a herbal touch of mint as well. Astonishingly light and refreshing, well hidden alcohol, accordingly very drinkable. Good.
