Can at home. Black color, full sized beige head. Aroma is malts, soft roast, brown malts, hops! Flavor is malts, brown malts and soft roast, with a superb hoppiness that -as is of crucial importance for a black IPA imo- can "compete" as it were with the (roasty) malt baseline of the beer. Can't say anything else than this is a very solid, good example of a classic Black IPA. Very well done!

440ml can. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, dark malty and slightly citrusy fruity and grassy, hoppy aroma, hints of coffee, coffee grounds, lemon, orange, lime, some instant coffee, green olive, a touch of coconut, minimally zesty, waxy overtones. Taste is citrusy fruity, slightly herbal-leafy and minimally grassy hoppy, roasty, dark malty basis, hints of lemon, coffee, some tobacco, green olive, umami, coconut.
Oily texture, smooth, minimally greasy, simultaneously minimally dry palate, fine, dense, soft carbonation.
Slightly unusual flavours, some subtleties, nevertheless discreet, easy drinkable, homogeneous, unspectacular; cannot decide where to place this unobtrusiveness in a spectrum between ingenious balance and boring uniformity - pleasurable.

On tap at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Caramel, chocolate & dark fruits in the nose. Taste is raisin, chocolate, blackberry jam. Lingering bitter hops on the palate, very lozenge-y. Whisper of smoke in there too.

440ml can. Almost black pour with a big beige head. Aroma of chocolate, citrus fruits, gooseberry and grape. Taste is very chocolately initially, very fruity too, citrus, gooseberry and grape, pine, roast malts, and a touch of coconut, bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Brilliant BIPA, interesting hop choices, loved this one.
