Defiant and untamed, Hell Rat is a crisp, fresh Helles lager forged in the unrelenting fires of the underworld. Reserved for sinners, not saints. A refreshing Helles style lager brewed with extra pale malt.
Part of the all new RAT range, emerging from the Ossett Brewery nest. Born from the shadows, crafted for the bold.

17/1/2026. Can at ITFC Beer share. From the Norwich Arts Centre fundraiser following the World Beer Awards. Clear pale gold pour. Aroma is citrusy, gooseberry, slightly soapy. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Quite highly carbonated, but otherwise liked it.

Dorada muy limpia, con burbuja fina pero espuma poco abundante y efímera. Aroma poco marcado. a grano, especias. En boca gas punzante, algo de efervescencia. Ligera, refrescante, seca. Malteada y ligeramente especiada.

The film King Rat could easily have been called Hell Rat given its depiction of a WWII Japanese prisoner of War camp, with one of George Segal's best cinematic appearances. Over-carbonated here at the Flying Horse Hotel, the beer looks like it will take off soon! Maintains flavour though, big head, lager nose, but does have a more 'Helles' taste.
