750 ml corked and crowned bottle from my cellar. This one has some age on it. Perhaps about 10 years or so. Pours mahogany brown with no head. Oaky, dark malt aroma hints at dark dried fruits. Flavor is bittersweet and boozy. Oak, bourbon, black currants, vanilla, dark chocolate and resin notes.

Super deep brown coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetres tall pure tan head - very nice and showing some microfoam, but slightly muted near the end. Aroma of super strong alcohol, pitted fruits, grain, raisins, oak, vanilla and a large dose of bourbon, peated malt and some lighter hints of the raisins and figs noticeable at the end. Medium to Full-bodied; Super strong, but slightly subtle alcohol, pitted fruit, earthy and nutty flavours with a dose of grain and oaked vanilla and somehow little of the alcohol and astringent notes. Aftertaste shows all the oak and pungency with a lot of vanilla, alcohol and grain throughout. Overall, a nice and enjoyable beer that is well worth a milestone and even better to age it! I finally was able to sampled this 75 cL corked and caged bottle, as a milestone beer, purchased from Whole Foods in Tyson's Corner (Falls Church), Virginia on 06-February-2014 for US$14,99 when I had a single kid...sampled a few days after 5 years later, when I have three kkids and let the beer mellow out, at home here in Washington on 10-February-2019, a full five years after purchase.

2013 bottle. Very sweet—as it should be, I guess—with syrupy caramel and toffee notes layered over heavy bourbon booziness and a hearty oak finish. Might be a bit too old for its own good; no subtlety is left in the bottle, replaced by lush and gooey barleywine indulgence and oh so much liquor. Not much fruit, not much hop, but still drinkable in its own unrepentant way.

From bottle at a tasting @ Bor’s, with Borresteijn, Zlotta, Markoijelena, Adamnowek, Skortila, MarcodL and Harmen. Clear red-brown color. Light beige head, just a little. Aroma’s: bourbon, sweet, red fruit, woody. Retronasal: bourbon, caramel, alcohol, light fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet, caramel. Strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. More caramel in the finish.

Sampled from bottle at Borresteijn’s place. Clear, deep red with a tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, vanilla, a bit of wild honey and raisins. Sweet, malty taste of molasses, raisins, vanilla and some wild honey, followed by a long, slightly bitter, warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite good!

Rating number 5000!! Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a red-brown color with a large creamy orange-tan head that lingered forever and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet pineapple upsidedown cake, bouron, oak, sugar, toffee and dark fruit. The flavor was sweet toasted coconut, vanilla, oak, pineapple upsidedown cake, toffee, dark fruits and a boozy presence that pervaded. Very long finish with lingering pineapple, toffee and booze. Full bodied, almost syrupy. Outstanding.

Danish tasting session
Hazy dark amber color with small head. The aroma is nice, it combines malt, caramel, maybe toffee, and a hint of oak, vanilla, light alcohol. Full bodied, rich malt flavor, some vanilla oak, strong bitterness, pungent hop resins, and strong warming alcohol.
Very good.
