Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Dark brown, beige head. Smoke, some dark fruits, soy sauce, a bit of wood, meat, oxidation, sourish-sweetish, medium-bodied.

Head gone in seconds, near-black brown beer; pours viscously. Treacle, maple syrup, caramel; bit roasted, burnt matches. Smoked and sour, always a weird combination. Ashes, sulphur, and bitterish toffee, very roasted. Bit fruity sourishness, but the finish is rather harsh. Medium bodied, even a bit thin, probably due to the acidthinning. Undercarbonated, and I find the 10% hard to believe. Not exempt of some qualities. But the search for balance is still on, here.

Tap at Ginger Man, Boston. Color is almost black with small slightly brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Smoke, some berries, vineous elements, some chocolate, dryness and malts. Very heavy.

Black. aroma is some slight funk lime cocoa wood sugars. Taste is slight sour with lots of sweet cocoa. A bit full bodied. Quite harsh. Well interesting and all but would not drink in quantities.

Bottle. Roast, wood, vineous, cocoa aroma Darkest by, low head. Very nice broad blend: broad lactose, milk chocolate, bitter choc, coffee, light booze: rum, Kahlua, roasted grain. Full, mellow body. Clean and nice.

Bottle. Black color with no head. Aroma is vanilla, caramel, straight bourbon barrel, fresh yeast. Taste is bourbon barrel, a touch smoked, a touch wild yeasts. Oily viscous mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Very complex, and very tasty!

Caña en el breguer Valladolid 25..01..2018. (r24). Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro que desaparece al poco dejando pequeňa corona. Sabores originales entre maltosos tostados con toques ácidos. Suaves cacaos y torrefactos con toques de maderas empapadas en licor. Suaves especias. Vainillas. Cuerpo medio a intenso con buena sensación alcohólica desde el principio. No muy densa se bebe bien y es bastante fina en boca. Original combinación de sabores, para repetir. Bastante buena.

Bottle: Pours black with barely a ring of tan foam. Chocolate, smoke, dark fruit aroma. Taste is very sweet, heavy chocolate malt. Smoke....a lot of barrel notes. Really nice. Also.....fun to watch people's reaction when they realize what the label art represents.......

Tap @ Jabato. Black, no head. Nose is coffee, lactic acid, bit smokey, very nice. Flavour of roasted malts, coffer, bit ashy. Not very smokey.
