Bottle. Wood smoke, slightly sour milk, chocolate malt, and earthy hay aroma. Black with minimal head. Mildly sweet-smoky chocolate malt, and moderately bitter/astringent dry wood/red wine flavor. Dry finish - good body. Very nice.

Bottle 750ml. @ [ TTOD(U)RBSG17 - The Tenth Official Danish (Ulfborg) Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2017 ] @ fonefan - Brugmansia house, Denmark. [ As Against the Grain / Freigeist Babyschläger ].Clear dark brown colour with a small, fizzy and open, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, molasses, wood, smoked, smoked meat - bacon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, molasses, roasted, wood, smoke, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20170819] 7-2-8-4-15

Sampled @ 10th Danish Ratebeer Gathering, Ulfborg, Day 2. Opaque dark brown to black color, virtually no head. Aroma is dark malts, a hint of liquorice, smoke, smoked bacon. Taste malts, smoke, alcohol, dark malts, slightly tart. Hmm not really my thing. A bit weird.

Bottle, 10%. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, smoke and soy. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, soy, smoke, sweet, sticky, notes of alcohol and warming.

Bottle @ Fonefan Summer Gathering. Black with a tiny brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, licorice, smoked and wood. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. 190817
