50cl bottle from a butcher in the Veronese country side. Pours a clear hold with some slim, white head. Nose is a touch trashy, butter, white bread, yeast. Flavor has more, honey-butter, candy, malt, heavy corn. Sweet finish.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a nice looking frothy white head, medium retention. Malty aroma with presence of grassy notes. The taste is crisp, a bit grassy with mild bitterness. Nice, light and refreshing.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe: poured three times into a Veltins Pilsner tulip on 11th June 2015. Bright, clear and clean looking brew, golden with a snow white head (which lasts): carbonation bubbles clearly to be seen rising through the beer. Corn and other cereals in the aroma, semi-sweet on the tongue with the malts pushing the hop content into a distant second place. Almost creamy (yes, for a Pilsner) on the palate. This is far from your average Pilsner in quite a few ways: it had an aroma that didn’t remind me of wet cardboard, it had head retention with lacing and a flavoursome body depth far beyond it’s 5.2% ABV would normally have. One of the best ’basic’ Pilsners I have come across so far.

*Old rating, best before 23.06.2010. Malzig-getreidiges, nicht zu tiefes Bier. Frisch, süffig, leicht süßlich mit moderater Herbe im Nachgeschmack.
