CBJ tasting, thanks to me for the can. Near clear deep amber beer, tidy tan head. Smooth and mildly viscous palate, modest fine carbonation. Soft caramel malts, good malt cream. Ripe fruits and estery sweetness. Modest bourbon barrel, a little vanilla and some decent bourbon soaked ripe fruits. A modest alcohol spice on the mildly dry finish. A tasty and rich BA quad.

330 ml can. Pours a very dark brown wit moderate foamy head. Aromas of barrel alcohol, oak, minerals, and toasted malts. Flavors of oaky raisins, dried fruit, and warm toasty malts. A bit of an alcohol presence but in the end it works its way in. Kinda like bourbon... A sipper.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before August 2027. Very dark ruby to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins, figs and whisky. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently fruity and fairly boozy taste of caramel, molasses, lots of whisky, vanilla, raisins and traces of clove, followed by a long, moderately bitter, rather boozy finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice taste-wise, somehow not really Quad-like though, rather like a Belgian Barley Wine maybe.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Whiskey upfront with dark malt, raisins, dried fruits, yeast, spicy notes, caramel, sugar, some alcohol. Medium sweet, bit boozy, sticky mouthfeel. Above medium body. Good one.
