BA Salted Caramel Strong Ale 12% vol
A rich and malty strong ale brewed with salted caramel and aged in oak barrels for 15 months.

Taste: The flavor is very rich and intense. The lush taste blends chocolate and plums with vanilla-like spiciness. While the beginning is more fruity and juicy, the aftertaste becomes more liqueur-like, with hints of nuts, raisins, and a light roastiness. The finish leaves a pleasant warmth of alcohol.

Appearance: A dark brown beer with a slight reddish tint and a smaller side beige head. Swirling the beer creates a dense lace pattern on the glass walls.

Nose: The initial aroma is lightly smoky, plummy, and reminiscent of port. The scent is unusually fruity for a dark beer—dominated by plum, with hints of raisins and vanilla notes from oak barrels. Upon further exploration, you can detect various spices and dried fruits.

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a minimalistic beige head. Oily. The aroma has roasted malts, dark chocolate, some coffee, alcohol and a touch of dark dried fruit. Spiced notes. It’s full-bodied and warming, sweet, with some bitterness. Alcohol, dark dried fruit and nuttiness in the flavor, mostly dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Lasting finish. Quite nice this one, perhaps a bit too warming. 241129

33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours dark mahogany coloured with a modest, tanned head. Malty and caramelly with notes of dark chocolate, vanilla wood and hints of alcohol and licorice. Smooth, sweet and slightly boozy with warming alcohol and rather high flavour intensity. Desserty, sweet and slightly salty, but quite enjoyable.

Near clear deep amber brown beer, small and short lived bubbly pale tan head. Light palate, smooth and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation on the back end. The promised salted caramel is here but far from the only thing going on. A little chocolate malts, mild cocoa. Ripe fruits. Some tangy ripe fruits. A little oak barrel smooth vanilla. Enough booze and ripe fruits to suggest this is a bourbon barrel but the label says otherwise! A fair dose of alcohol spice on the finish.

Drucken på fat på Brewskival 2024. Kanske en kontrast mot 15%iga pastry stouts men ändå. Förvånansvärt frisk och lättdrucken trots att den är stor och maffig med fina fattoner. Gott
