Our 29-month barrel-aged American double stout delivers massive waves of oaky bourbon and rye, layered with notes of rich chocolate, freshly turned caramel, stiff toffee, roasted nuts, dark coffee, and complex vanilla. As this American double stout warms, it reveals its age and maturity, letting hints of dried dark fruits and toasted marshmallow flow from this oily liquid. It is blended from Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, and Willett rye barrels.

Appearances are and opaque brownish black with no head. I thought it was flat at first. Aromas are roast, dark malt, molasses, tree bark and a bit of oak. Flavors are similar to nose, More sweet than bitter with oak coming out more and very slight carbonation. Would be better drinking with more carbonation. This one's going to be hard to finish on my own. Could cook with it.

Draught at Independent Ale House: pours oily black with small head. Aroma is vanilla, booze, milk chocolate. Taste is boozy, strong punch. Light boozy notes. Hefty.

Short pour at Churchkey, December 2024. Dense chocolate cake & too much bourbon. Smells super similar to their Little Luxuries sweet imp stout. Well at least it taste different... Sweet n smokey, umami, some oily bittersweet chocolate, Rich, a touch too sharp bourbon with just a bit of peppery rye. Very oily body, but on the thin side. Not too sweet, nice contrasting roast under all that cake. Middle high appropriate belly burn. Hits.
