King Julius is an American Double IPA brewed to be an exceptionally flavorful, juicy, and hop saturated beer without rough edges or abrasiveness. Its vivid citrus aromas give way to flavors of orange creamsicle, mango smoothie, and a bounty of fresh tropical fruit. We find it to be refined and delicate amid an onslaught of flavor. Originally brewed in 2012, King Julius is our endeavor to marry our past with what we aspire to be in the future.

Originally rated on 4.7.2019. 473ml can from a trade. Canned 04/12/19. Smooth, malty and hoppy with some tropical notes, orange juice, pine and citrus. Pretty balanced, but not super fresh anymore. 8-4-9-4-16 Re-rated from a fresh can. Feels more balanced, juicy and tropical fruity with some malty backbone and nice bitterness. Good one.

Canned on 4-19-19. Similar to the standard base in nearly every way.Aroma of bright fruit, grassy hops. Flavor is juicy with grassy notes. Mangos, peaches, stone fruit, pale malt with some bready backbone. This shows quite a bit more stern bitterness than the standard Julius.

Thanks Virby44 for sharing the can! Poured into a teku showing turbid orange juice with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows pronounced notes of dank cannabis and mango nectar. The palate is moderately to well carbonated and medium bodied. Pronounced notes of mango nectar, orange, and kiwi with subtle notes of cannabis and pine around the edges with a restrained balanced bitterness on the finish.
