Stephen Beaumont is Canada's first beer writer and is the author or co-author of 14 books, including the international best seller, World Atlas of Beer. During Stephen's travels in Düsseldorf, Altbier left a distinct impression and we were lucky enough to brew this beer to honour those memories. Dry with spicy hop notes, a rich malt character and earthy aromatics culminate in supreme drinkability, belying it's stronger-than-usual Sticke Alt strength.

On tap at Birreria Volo, pours a deep dark amber brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out dry bready malt, a touch of dried toffee, and some earthiness. Flavour is very dry, with bready malt, dry toffee, and plenty of earthiness. A bit muffled on the malts. It’s alright.
