Our brewing heritage dates back to 1799, and it was some years later in 1887 that Greene & King joined together over their love of great beer. To celebrate our rich heritage, we based this excellent new beer on a recipe that we discovered in our archives. This sweet and malty, full-bodied ale is a testament to our incredible brewers.

Spotty beige head on a dark reddish brown coloured body.
Malt, winey & bitter aroma.
Medium bodied, sharp in the tongue with a cloying back.
Heavy malt, pine, grapefruit & citrussy tastes with a tangy hopped finish.
Nice enough.

50cl bottle from Morrisons.
Medium creamy white head. Clear golden pour. Nice bitterness. Good for a Green King beer.

[50cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell.] A bright copper coloured pour with a thick white head; malty aroma with a hint of spice and sweetness; malty caramel taste, slightly sticky on the lips, with some raisins to finish. More of an English Strong Ale than an Imperial IPA, but very drinkable.

Nice traditional British IPA, maybe too much toffee in aroma and flat carbonation, drinkable but calling it Imperial?
