Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: clear copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: passion fruit sweet and tart character up front; slight funky to basement-like tones; sweet grass and light lemony tones in the middle with some sweet to tart oak-like scents too; good lacto tones in there too
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine funky sweet to tart to sour quality: finishes tart and sweet with the passion fruit notes in front of the lemony tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, good sipper; light smoothness but also with some tart to sour abrasiveness
Overall: nicely done passion fruited sour/tart ale I would welcome again.

Ever so slightly hazy golden and straw yellow coloured body with a very nice, two to three centimetre tall off-white head that shows up nicely at first and fades relatively quickly and leaves a subtle lace on the sides. Aroma of strong and pungent wheat and rich lactose, cream, vanilla and lactobilly note with a good hit of passionfruit and guava as well, but the lactobilly and funky soured, tart yeast notes are perhaps stronger. Light to Medium-bodied; Very strong effervescence and pure sour (this is beyond tart) passionfruit flavour shows up at first that makes you remember your first bite of a real fresh yellow passionfruit sliced open in the bush and opened up and drunk immediately, the tartness there is incredible and you weren't expecting it - the same rings true here. Aftertaste shows some additional balance in wheat and light malts and the funky lactobilly yeast notes with some light dry and grassy funk, but the passionfruit still shows stronger, in a great, very fresh way. Overall, a very nice and incredibly fruit-centric (as it should be) beer that hits the notes just right and shows well throughout, especially in terms of tartness and real passionfruit flavours - some beers say it, this one really delivers. I sampled this 37,5 cL bottle, purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 28-April-2020 for US$5,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Reston, Virginia on 04-October-2022.

Riverside Beer Fest 22. Aroma is vinous with a muted passion fruit streak. Opaque cloudy amber. Foamy translucent white head recedes to the rim. Very sour. Vinous with underlying passion fruit. That's essentially it. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish.
