Bottle. Pours clear dark ruby with small, dirty pinkish head. Clear, sweet aroma of artificial raspberries. Ditto taste, the sweetness compounded by the addition of sugar AND an artificial sweetener. Rough and synthetic aftertaste. Filth, sweet filth!

Bottle. Aroma: toffee, cream fudge, coffee with milk. I don’t feel any dark malt here. Black colour, hard to get an head when pouring. Medium to heavy sweetness, very slight bitterness. Light body, very watery, soft carbonation. Does not taste like a beer at all, but it’s an acceptable non-alcoholic drink.

Aroma is not very intensive, but with distinguishable coffee, dark chocolate and caramel. Medium to high sweetness, no bitterness. Poor head. Quite watery. Acceptable. Bottle.

Head reduced to rim in secs; very dark, ruby-shot brown beer. Pure nose of Haagse Hopjes - 100%. Caramel, with a hint of mocha, and predicting sweetness². Sweet, as cola loaded with tablespoonfulls of molasses, caramel and hint of, again, H.H. "Sweet" doesn’t come near. Cloying, false body, spritzy. Poor women... I know a couple in the Low Countries who might just love this... to death.

Bottle from a new Polish shop in town: 99 Pence for 400ml. BBD 22 Apr 2013, poured into a Corsendonk stemmed tulip on 6 Aug 2013. The first RB Shitty Beer Night. Can I just add that I bought this bottle without the aid of my glasses, or it would never have got into my house. Woody brown colour, with a slight reddy hint. The head was wispy and thin, only the collar had any colour and that was dirty. Sweet metallic notes of tinned vanilla, caramel and sugar lumps hit the nose: tastes like it smells! Sickly isn’t a good enough word for such a nauseating bilious liquid. One of the nastiest and sweetest things I’ve ever encounted: almost couldn’t finish the bottle.

I bought this along with the Karmi Classic in a new local Polish shop, I didn’t have my glasses on (again I buy shitty beer when unsighted!). Clear bottle with too much in it: BBD in 12 days (18 Aug 2013). Long Live Shitty Beer Nights! Looks like Vimto: remember that anyone? Dull red hue to a deep maroon body with cherry coloured scum around the edge of my glass. Cherry and Raspberry nose with a bucket of sugar thrown in, with extra lashings of maple syrup for good measure. Why do I do this to myself? I’m burping and my teeth are furing up as I try to finish the whole bottle, the wife has had a sip and refuses to help out again: she’s not daft (like me). The worse beer I’ve ever had? No, but not far off.

Shitty beer night. Pour is coke coloured with a red hue. thin stodgy pink grey head. Aroma is sweet raspberry syrup / raspberry ripple ice cream with dusty musty cara malt. Later the aroma picks up a soapy alkaline quality. The flavour is initially sweet raspberry with cherry and then everything stops and there is no flavour to speak of. There is a sort gag worthy cardboard in there as well. A little carbonate bite in the finish. Palate is abishmal, watery thin dusty. All in all probably better than I was expecting, but still could not finish. Let’s move along.

Bottle @ WWT III. Clear brown colour, off-white head. Nose is massive fudge, toffee, caramel ’Haagse hopjes’. Flavour is liquid fudge, caramel, coffee. Sickly sweet. Not really a beer product.

40cl Bottle at WWT III. Clear dark brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of Haagse Hopjes, caramel, butter. Flavour is very sweet, haagse hopjes, caramel/toffee, butter, coffee, a hint of beer in the finish. Watery, light-bodied. Nice as an alcohol-free Kahlua or a soda, beer-wise this is an abomination. But I have to admit, I like the taste of it.
