On tap at Societe. Pours with a pitch black hued body with a large and very retentive deep brown head. Glass coating. Aromas show a huge roast, nutty walnut, chocolate and coffee. Intense roast. Low esters, medium alcohol. Nice and bready malt character as well with a low earthy hop note. Flavors are roasty, lightly ashy and bitter. Dark/baker’s chocolate. Medium bitter, walnut. Rich and well balanced. Thick, full bodied, medium carbonation with well hidden alcohol. Wow!

On tap at the source. Pours with a deep mahogany hued body with a small off-white head. Decent clarity and lace. Aromas are of dark fruits, low roast, leather, raisins, prunes, esters, medium alcohol and dates. Flavors show medium roast, leather, prunes, earthy notes. Dark fruits, medium malt. On tap at the brewery as well as a growler. Pours with a crystal clear golden yellow hued body with a lasting white head that leaves good lace. Aromas are very hoppy, herbal and spicy, grassy. Pretty clean yeast wise, low phenol and even less ester (some dried fruit). Low malt character. Overall pretty clean, a touch peppery, nearly pils like. Flavors are dry, earthy, and crisp. Medium hops (grassy, herbal). Nicely dry and quaffable, low bready malt character, some mineral notes. Clean yeast wise with some peppery phenol. Very drinkable, lively bubbles, crisp with a light body. Excellent beer.

On tap at the source. Pours with a hazed golden yellow hue with a lasting white head and good lace. Aromas are hop forward: citrusy, floral, tangerine and resin. Medium grapefruit pith. Lightly malty, bready, no crystal character (which I am completely okay with). Dry, malty. Quite clean yeast wise. Flavors are very dry, bitter, light resin, citrus, a bit of spicy cohumulone hop character, grassy. Medium to medium strong bitterness with a bitter balance. Well attenuated and dry with medium to medium high carbonation. Didn’t notice much alcohol. Well done, but the next IPA is even better!
