Description
Fat Lizard Brewing Co. is a Finnish Indie brewery specializing in super fresh and drinkable American-style beers.
We’re located in Otaniemi, in the very heart of Espoo. As the first commercial brewery ever in Espoo, the company was founded by four fellows – Hessu, Topo, Topi and Eero – in 2014 and has been operative since February 2015. Today the brewery staff includes 15 irreplaceable characters altogether.
After many years of homebrewing and heavy testing, the recipes were just too good to keep for ourselves. It was time to build a brewhouse in Kivenlahti Rock Bay. Two years of constant sold-out storage left no beer for ourselves. So we moved on and expanded in Otaniemi with a decent sized brewing equipment going nationwide.
Now our beer portfolio contains various styles of craft beer, all made in our extraordinary way of brewing. Including internationally acclaimed gems. Drink more, drink better!

Draught @ Black Door, Helsinki
Pours dark reddish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of caramely malts, hints of berries, fruits and grass. Taste is malty, crisp and a bit stuffy with loads of caramel, hints of toffee, berries and fruits. Finish is crisp, malty and bitter with hints of berries. Can’t locate much Mosaic here. A bit disappointing.

(Keg at Oljenkorsi, 20150627) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized, dense and it lasted long. Aroma was surprising mild and had mostly grapefruit. Palate was rather light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grapefruit, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was mostly bitter. A very thin brew.

Draught @ Brewdog Helsinki
Pours yellowish orange with a large foamy white head. Aroma of yeast, wheaty notes, some hints of citrus, fruits and lemon. Taste is smooth, yeasty and wheaty with hints of citrusy fruits and lemon. Finish is sweetish, stuffy and yeasty with some wheaty notes and hints of lemon. A bit unbalanced and perhaps too stuffy.

Keg at Black Door, Helsinki. It pours clear amber with a thick white head. The soft, fruity, marmalade, cherry, varnish and dough. The taste is bitter, grassy, doughy malts, straw, sherbet, some alcohol warmth, pine and pithy orange with some booze with a dry finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. A touch rough around the edges perhaps, but not bad.

Draught @ One Pint. Aroma has soapy citrus, fruity hops and mild urinal tones. Flavour has strong urinal cake notes, some soapy citrus, some grassy hoppiness and earthy tones. Finishes with menthol, minerals and grapefruit. A solid Belgian IPA, could be more fruity though.
