5th June 2010 - Draft at Open Baladin. Hazy dark amber beer. Good off white head. Fresh clean palate, a little dry. Nice toffee malt with some cream and a hint of banana. Fresh orange hop, not bitter, coming through at the end. Very well joined up fresh beer. Highly drinkable.

Sample at Buckeye Beer Engine. This brew is a cloudy brownish-amber color with a thin light beige head that diminishes to an outer ring rather quickly. Stringy lacing. Aroma of smoked honey ham and nuts. Medium body with smoked meat character and flavors of roasted nuts and sweet malt. The finish is smoky with a roasted chestnut aftertaste. Not really a bad beer I just couldn’t get into it.

Draught at the brewpub
Hazy brown color. Very light aroma; roasted malt? Smoke? The smoke is actually more evident in the flavor, but there iis just a light dusty roasted malt; ordinary bitterness.
Are they trying to introduce rauchbier, slowly, in the region? I don’t like it, not enough body, too dry...
