Description
Mike Hess Brewing is one of the premier craft breweries of San Diego. We set out with a mission to bring people together over great beer and were early on in the craft beer revolution. We were the region’s 33rd brewery back in 2010 when our first location, then a nano-brewery, in Miramar was opened. Now, in our 10th year, we have 5 locations in California, including the “OG” spot, which has since tripled in size!

Poured up on tap at Tipsy Cactus where it exhibits a murky gold body that supports a thin white head of foam. The aroma offers up musty spicy and herbal hops flowing into some thin floral and faint citrus hops. The taste delivers pleasing notes of spicy to floral to faintly citrus and vaguely woody sort of herbal hoppiness. Wow. This really comes together.

Can from Beer Republic. Hazy brown with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, hay and light hoppy. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Light dry and light bitter finish. 110818

Cask at the GBBF 2018 day 5 11/08/2018. A clear golden dull orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is grassy, orange, light solvent, hedgerow, wax. Flavour is composed of earthy grains, little hay, sticky hop, chewy.. Palate is semi sweet, chewy, decent cask condition. Nice.

Draught @ Mike Hess Brewing-Miramar, San Diego. Pours dark brown with a small offwhite head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, belgian yeast, dark fruit, wood, nice bourbon. Flavor is sweet, rich malty, caramel, yeast, dig, bourbon, light alcohol. Medium to full body, average carbonation, sweet finish with a touch of warming alcohol. A tad sweet. 270718
