Pale yellow..smells like a typical light beer, but not as sour as some past beers....nice flavor, easy to drink, one of the better light beers out there....zingy and refreshing

Grass and molasses aroma. Black pour with a medium tan head. It tastes of smoke and charred oak, slightly dry and sour. Coffee and lemon grass finish. Nice carbonation. It’s good, but there isn’t anything special about it. Needs character.

12 oz bottle from Quake1028; Grain and grassy hops for a nose; body is dark gold with a big, bubbly, even lightly glass lacing off-white head; flavor is light caramel, gtrain, and a bit of hop bitterness (very light).

On tap at the National Folk Festival in Richmond, VA as Yuengling Light. Clear golden amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet grainy aroma. Light grain flavor with a sweet finish.

Raisin and clove aroma, not terribly strong. Very clear mahogany, with a thick, frothy, tan head. Nicely balanced sweet black cherry and hop. Lemon grass finish sets it off great. Good balance and great price.

On draft at a bar in Alexandria, Virginia October 2006. Pale amber colour with a slight white head. Aroma of sweet malt with a whiff of hops. The flavour also started with a touch of malt before a decent bitter finish. Pretty good for the style, which I’m not a great fan of.

Green 12 oz bottle with a twist off cap, $1.75 at the 3 Son’s place in Wexford. For some reason I expected something more lagerlike. Looks like any other american lager. Certainly has an ale bite on the first taste. Is a little boiled cabbage and broccoli like in aroma. Has more personality than I like in golden ale. It’s almost an annoying refined hop bitterness. This bitterness even hides the alky content. Industrial linger that hangs for a while. Not as good as North Country Northern Lite, Rivertowne Golden Mountie or Pete’s Rally cap. Better than Kochs Golden Anniversary Beer. On par with Blue Point Summer Ale and Balantine.

Bottle. Dark used motor oil pour. Foamy one finger head. Aromas are predominantly dark malt, chocolate and molasses... but somehow not very convincing. Flavor is about the same. Mouthfeel is pretty good... but that’s a highlight... the rest of the senses are a little disappointed. Flavor is a ho-hum roasted malt with a little bit of a nutty undertone, but lacks any great complexity. It’s a pretty decent dark beer, but a pretty mediocre porter.

Bottle. Has everyone here lost their minds? Am I the only one that can see how completely mediocre this is? Sorry if this offends, but this is just like a Yuengling lager but minus the taste, minus the aroma and with a few less ticks on the ABV meter. Pointless.

Bottle. So if you took a normal Yuengling and got rid of most of the pleasantness in terms of malt and hops aroma and flavor, this is what you would be left with. Weak and uninteresting. Poor... very poor.
