Draught Hazy orange-amber; small white head. Slightly sweet, cakey, with a hoppy (!) overtone all the same. Good balance with sweet, heavy malts, and a good USA hops dose, dry, resiny, to the point that retronasal, I seem to get pure spruce. Well balanced, smooth, nearly heavy MF. Very good balance, rare in WC overhopped IPA’s.

Impossible to get a head on (tried myself, this time (!)), orange-foxy ale. Grapey, rich hops nose, good USA hops. Sweet-bitter orange marmalade and hints of alcohol. Taste is again typical orange marmalade. It’s discreet for an ’Imperial’, but that helps actually its delicacy. Medium to well-bodied impression; slick, alcohol in the aftertaste. Serious attempt at delicacy rather than at overwhelming bigness. Bravo - I’ve had plenty of different...

Hazy straw colour. The aroma is strawlike with a hint of citric hop. Light lemony/tangerine flavour with hints of fresh crunchy pale malt and light bitterness. Off-dry finish. Typical of Washington State golden ales - an actual gateway beer instead of a macro clone.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy reddish. Strong grapefruit aroma. Sweet and thick with plenty of hop induced lychee and grapefruit flavour. Like in the other beers here the mouthfeel is syrupy and sticky. The finish is very bitter, but sticky sweetness still gets the upper hand.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark black. Sweet and thick, fruity with raw mouthfeel and notes of licorice. Lots of molasses, corn flakes and unfermentables. Way too sweet. Not good at all.

Draught at the brewpub. Pale amber. Rich aroma of lychee and grapefruit. Sweet with clean mouthfeel and near full body. Finished of with fruits and pleasant bitterness. This was the one beer I actually liked here. There is enough hops to cover the malt profile that I really don’t appreciate.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy dark brown. Sweet and fruity with thick, syrupy mouthfeel. Molasses covers all other flavours. Thick, raw and unpleasant. All the things I do not waht a scotch ale to be.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy pale amber. Medium sweet with hard, syrupy crystal malt character and only some vague resiny hops to try to cover it. Raw and harsh.
