Description
1980-luvun lopulla keskipohjalaiset lypsytilalliset Hannu ja Virpi Ali-Haapala miettivät maatalouden rakennemuutoksessa sivuelinkeinoa kasvavalle perheelleen. Samoihin aikoihin Hannun Lontoossa asuva sisko totesi, ettei Lontoosta saa pullossakaan niin hyvää vettä kuin Toholammin Härkänevan kylällä saa hanasta.

Kyläläiset olivat jo vuosikymmeniä nauttineet läheisen Multilan lähteen laadukkaasta vedestä – entä jos tästä vedestä voisivatkin nauttia ihmiset ympäri Suomen, jopa ympäri maailman? Tästä oivalluksesta ja Ali-Haapalan pariskunnan rohkeudesta yrittää syntyi Finn Spring vuonna 1991.

(Plastic bottle 120 cl) Courtesy of oh6gdx. Slightly hazy, warm, reddish brown with a tall and bubbly, beige head that dissipates in no time. Weird plum-like aroma. Very thin body with a heavy, bubbly carbonation and sweetish, hard to define fruit notes. Weird underlying acidity. As seen on Flickr Ungstrup really loved this.... 110308

1.2 L plastic bottle. Pours dark brown with a lacing white head. Light fruity and malty aroma, special light spiced note. Sweet flavour, light raisin sweet. Raisin flavoured. Sweet and light acidic finish. Strange, even stranger to see Ungstrup drink half of it from the bottle!

Plastic bottle (originally rated 11.11.2007 as Ukko-Pekka Perinteinen kotikalja). Dark amber brown colour with mediumsized briownish beige foamy head. Aroma is rye, saccharine, Flavour is syrup, rye, malts and mild hopping. Biting carbonation. OK brew to have with food, but not by itself. 3 3 3 2 6.

Plastic bottle (as Rainbow Kotikalja Svagdricka, I did alias these, as Finn Spring produce both, both are 0.9 % and the list of contents/ingredients are the same). Deep ambery brown colour, small slightly off-white sparkling head, that vanishes quickly. Aroma is rye, saccharine, mild dark syrup and slight resin. Flavour is sweet rye, mild saccharine, some very sweetish grainy notes. Rather harsh in flavours, leaving a strange sweetish and ryelike messy aftertaste.

Plastic PET-bottle 1,2 ltr
Dark nut brown color, small mostly vanishing off-white head. Strong aroma of rye and dark easter bread. Sugary with some molasses, crisp carbonation, minerals, some rye malty notes. Quite good version of Kvass, just a bit too sweet and lacking alcoholic punch.
