Medium body with lightly sweet caramel but otherwise completely dominated by smooth bourbon flavours. The finish is dry. Quite intriguing an idea to bourbon barrel such a "small beer". 180907

5/1/07 Bottle from shigadeyo; nose of whiskey, grain, and vanilla; clear copper witha small offwhite head; flavor like a VO and water, a lot of water, with some vanilla notes.More like a weak hard liquor drinl than a beer. I enjoy the flavors but it doen’t taste like any amber i’ve had! Drink this at a party and impress your friends with how much alcohol you can hold. Put a couple bottles in a big glass and chug it down! 10/5/17 Draft on the Disney Wonder. Nose is malty caramel, light bourbon, and vanilla. Clear amber orange with a big heavy lacing off white head. Flavor is malty with light bourbon and vanilla. Much better than the bottle I had 10 years ago.

12 oz. bottle, from trade at the Flossmoor RateBeer event. Geez., I think this is only my second new state this year, grumble, grumble. Well, to the beer: Nice looking pour, a burnished brass under a disappearing head, but a touch light for its style, settles out with very few bubbles. Nice ale smell, but with a touch of camphor. Taste is noce malts, a hint somewhere of cola, and a very slight ale fruitiness. Hops are indisitinct. I did get this in a "white elephant trad," and there’s no date, so it may be aged. Enjoyable, but mostly average.

Bottle. Vanilla cream, campfire smoke, and bourbon aroma. Nice amber color with small head. Smoky malt and light bourbon flavor with fairly strong vanilla flavor coming out and lasting well after swallowing. High acidity that gives a tingling sensation to the lips. Nice oak aftertaste. Very nice - really more like a bourbon and soda than a beer. Really like this beer, but I also love bourbon so really is the best of both worlds.

Orange amber beer with white head. The aroma was a sweet odor of malt. Sour at first to the tongue but finishes with a nice malt finish.

2005 Knoxville Brewer’s Jam Medium gold color with a thin ring of white as a head. Aroma is unmistakably Bourbon. Little malt of hop aroma as the Bourbon takes over. More Bourbon in the flavor. I think this one needs a stronger malt presence to balance the Bourbon, but some like it as it tapped out early in the day. Probably the lightest barrel aged beer I’ve had.

Bottle. Light fruity malt aroma - subtle. Coppery red color - little head. Cherry malt flavor - slightly sweet and slightly tart - quite enjoyable.
