Description
Goodwood Brewing is a production brewery located in the heart of downtown Louisville. The brewery is dedicated to making beers that have been touched by wood; whether in reclaimed oak casks once used to house bourbon, red wine, and brandy or seasoned on oak, poplar or ash. Goodwood’s "shade-grown beers" are all touched by the natural gradations of reclaimed casks and other wood types for flavorful expressions that are unique to Goodwood. Just like the bourbon Kentucky is famous for, all of Goodwood’s beers begin with limestone water. The gents behind Goodwood are some of Louisville’s longest-serving brewing veterans, running production breweries here since 2001.

Goodwood Brewing Co. offers brewery tours, private event rental space, live music, yoga and other weekly & monthly events in the taproom. The 200 year old building with a fully renovated Taproom is conveniently located at the edge of NuLu, and it's the perfect blend of historic, industrial and cool!

Draft. Sugar, toffee malt, wood, and light hay aroma. Dark brown with minimal head. Very sweet chocolate toffee malt, and very lightly bitter hay flavor. Okay body. Decent - very sweet.

Bodney Towers bottle share. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque dark brown beer, massive tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy and thin dark malts, trace of dark chocolate. A whisper of tangy dark fruits. Smooth semi finish. A thin stout with very mild barreling.

On tap at Goodwood, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light bourbon and subtler roasted malt. Flavour is pretty laid back for the style, with fairly subtle bourbon barrels, a little vanilla and toasted malt. Medium-bodied and fairly easy on the assertiveness. Nice stuff.

On tap at Goodwood, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Nose brings out subtle honey with even subtle bourbon. Flavour is soft, with fermented out honey, and subtle bourbon that makes itself more apparent with each sip. Subtle but elegant. Very nice stuff.

On tap at Goodwood, pours a cloudy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out saison yeast upfront, with a touch of red wine. Flavour is shy on the red wine barrels, with a little wood, lots of saison yeast and some funk. Dry on the palate, with the wood (but no wine) notes coming out more. Okay.

On tap at Goodwood, pours a hazy amber orange with a small beige head. Nose brings out heavy bourbon notes, with little else. Flavour is not that abrasive or intense, with subtle bourbon barrels dominating, leaving a subtle vanilla sweetness on the finish. Nicely done.
